Instructions for How to Apply to Oasis

 

If you fulfill all of the Requirement for Prospective Students and are interested in pursuing a two-year education at Oasis Training Center, follow these steps to become a potential student.

1. Come to Gansu, Pingliang to take the Oasis Training Center Entrance Exam. This exam is one part written, one part oral and must be done in person. On occasion, an exception can be made, but this is not the norm and requires being in a place where someone with whom we have trusted connections can administer the test. Plan on coming to Pingliang. 

Dates for the next Entrance Exams are as follows:
May 8, 2010
June 5, 2010

Testing begins at 9:00am and will be completed by 12:00pm on each date.

There is no cost for the Entrance Exam.

           
NOTE: Taking the Entrance Exam does NOT insure you a place in our upcoming class. You must receive a passing grade and be able to pay the tuition. If you fail the exam, you are welcome to retake it a second time, after two months have passed.

 

2. If you receive a passing grade on the Entrance Exam, then you must pay a deposit toward your tuition to reserve your spot in our upcoming Grade 1 class. Student Housing is not included in your tuition, but at an additional charge, you can stay in the Pingliang Industrial Vocational School dormitories.

Full tuition costs (as of 11/24/2009):  
For students from inside Gansu Province:  2,000 RMB per semester

For students from outside of Gansu Province:  4,000 RMB per semester
Deposit amount due upon enrollment:  500 RMB

 

3. Grade 1 students are required to attend a month long summer program prior to their first year at Oasis. This course is provided to give you a jump-start on your English learning with us and is not an option – if you want to come to Oasis, you must attend the summer program.  Housing is not included in your tuition, but at an additional charge, you can stay in the Pingliang Industrial Vocational School dormitories for this program. The dates students are expected to be in Pingliang for this year’s summer program are July 12 to July 30, 2010.

 

4. Your tuition for the first semester must be paid in full by the first day of orientation. Some scholarships are available on a very limited basis.
